HGH Human Growth Hormone Rip-Offs
and
Scams
The Internet has many companies selling
products as “Natural HGH,” “HGH releasers” and “HGH
Stimulators.” There are many claims of success with these
products including decreased body fat, increased muscle
mass, increased energy, and an increased immune function,
among many other claims.
Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is a substance
created by the pituitary gland in children and adolescent
youth that stimulates the production of growth and cell
reproduction. HGH also acts on the liver to stimulate the
growth of Insulin-Like Growth Factor (IGF-I). The levels
of these cell generating compounds tend to decrease with
age.
The New England Journal of Medicine first
reported the potential of HGH being an anti-aging
solution for adults in 1990. Many studies since have
discounted the findings in this study. Regardless, it
created a mass marketing effort to sell non-prescription
supplements that have HGH like
qualities.
It is important to understand that the test
completed in 1990, and reported by the New England
Journal of medicine, reported an 8.8% increase in lean
body mass and a 14.4% decrease in body
fat.
The study these numbers originate from was done
with prescription strength HGH injections. Many companies
cite these same successful numbers while peddling their
HGH supplement products.
These products come in a variety of forms,
including pills (taken orally), which reportedly do not
work because your body will digest the solution. Sprays,
juices, and powders are other forms these products are
available in. The active ingredients in these products
vary greatly, but usually contain some mixture of amino
acids, vitamins, and minerals.
Consider that your body’s natural HGH contains
191 different amino acids. Research wisely, check the
ingredients, and compare them to other similar products.
When using the Internet to research HGH products, beware
of web sites offering “reviews” of the
products.
Use your common sense! Are they only reviewing
one company’s products? Are they only reviewing a limited
number of products? Are they associated with the
manufacturer? There are legitimate web sites that compare
these products, but there are also web sites that claim
they are reviewing products, but are nothing more than
slick advertising.
If you choose to use one of these natural HGH
releaser products, be sure and follow the directions
included with the package, and remember, despite what
others may say, there is no miracle cure for aging or a
fast way to increase HGH levels in your body. Seek a
doctor’s advice before administering growth hormone or
“HGH producing supplements” to ensure all of your options
are considered.
